Accessible by Design

Every black cab in Liverpool is wheelchair accessible. Our drivers are trained to assist passengers with disabilities. No special requests needed, just book and go!

100% Wheelchair Accessible

Unlike other ride-hailing apps where accessible vehicles are limited, every single black cab on Cabalot can accommodate wheelchair users. You don't need to request a special vehicle or wait longer, every cab that arrives is ready for you.

Built for Accessibility

Wheelchair Ramps

Every black cab has a built-in ramp for wheelchair access. Your driver will assist with setting it up and securing your wheelchair safely inside.

Secure Fixings

Purpose-built wheelchair restraints keep you safe and secure throughout your journey. Travel in your own chair without needing to transfer.

Spacious Interior

Black cabs are designed with generous interior space. Room for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, walking frames, and other mobility equipment.

Easy Entry

Wide-opening doors and low step heights make getting in and out easier for passengers with limited mobility, including elderly passengers.

Assistance Dogs Welcome

Guide dogs, hearing dogs, and all registered assistance animals are welcome in every Cabalot cab.

  • No extra charge for assistance animals
  • Drivers trained to accommodate assistance dogs
  • Space for your dog to sit comfortably
  • Refusal to carry assistance dogs is a criminal offence

If any driver refuses to take your assistance animal, please report it to us immediately. This is a legal requirement, and we take it seriously.

Additional Support

Our drivers are trained to assist passengers with a range of needs.

Visual Impairments

Drivers will meet you at your pickup point, help you to the vehicle, and assist you at your destination. Just let them know when booking or when they arrive.

Hearing Impairments

Communication through the app means less reliance on verbal communication. Your pickup and destination are shown to the driver on their screen.

Travelling with Carers

Companions and carers can travel with you. Black cabs seat up to five passengers, so there's room for support when you need it.

Mobility Equipment

Walking frames, crutches, and folding mobility scooters can all be accommodated. Drivers will help load and unload your equipment.

TRAINED Disability Awareness

Trained Drivers

All licensed taxi drivers in Liverpool complete disability awareness training as part of their licensing. This covers:

  • Safe use of wheelchair ramps and restraints
  • Assisting passengers with visual impairments
  • Working with assistance dogs
  • Understanding hidden disabilities
  • Effective communication with all passengers
