Getting Started

How do I sign up as a driver?

Download the Cabalot Driver app from the App Store or Google Play. Sign up with your phone number and upload a photo of your Hackney Carriage driver badge. We'll verify your credentials and activate your account, usually within 24-48 hours.

What documents do I need?

You'll need:

  • Valid Hackney Carriage driver badge
  • Licensed vehicle with valid plate
  • UK bank account for payouts (if accepting in-app payments)
How long does verification take?

Most accounts are verified within 24-48 hours. If we need additional information, we'll contact you via the app or by phone.

Payments & Earnings

How much does Cabalot cost?

Cabalot costs £20 per month. There's no commission on cash or card terminal payments, you keep 100%. For in-app payments, we take 5% to cover payment processing and platform costs.

How do I get paid for in-app fares?

In-app payments are processed through Stripe Connect. Your earnings are automatically deposited to your linked bank account. You can track all your earnings in the app.

Can I accept cash payments?

Yes! Unlike other apps, Cabalot allows you to accept cash, your own card terminal, or in-app payments. You choose what works for you. Cash and card terminal payments are 100% yours, we don't take any commission.

How do I manage my subscription?

You can manage your subscription in the app under Settings > Subscription. You can update your payment method or cancel at any time.

App Issues

The app won't connect or is showing offline

Try these steps:

  1. Check your internet connection (try switching between WiFi and mobile data)
  2. Make sure location services are enabled for the Cabalot app
  3. Force close the app and reopen it
  4. If the problem persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app, or get in touch with our support team.
I'm not receiving job requests

Make sure you:

  • Have toggled "Online" in the app
  • Have a strong internet connection
  • Have location services enabled
  • Are in an area where riders are requesting taxis

Job availability varies by time of day and location. If you've checked all the above and still aren't receiving jobs, please contact support.

Navigation isn't working properly

Cabalot uses your phone's default maps app for navigation. Make sure you have Google Maps (Android) or Apple Maps (iOS) installed and updated. You can also use other navigation apps like Waze if preferred.

Account & Profile

How do I update my vehicle information?

Go to Settings > Vehicle in the app to update your vehicle details. If you've changed vehicles, you'll need to upload a photo of your new vehicle plate for verification.

My badge is expiring soon. What do I do?

Once you've renewed your Hackney Carriage badge, upload a photo of the new badge in the app under Settings > Documents. We'll verify it and update your account.

How do I delete my account?

You can request account deletion by going to Settings > Account > Delete Account, or by contacting our support team. Please note that any pending earnings will be paid out before the account is closed.
